The founder, Tom Swainland senior, worked his way up through the construction ranks from a bricklayer in the 1960's to the Chairman of the company, running multiple new build projects of housing estates in the 1980's, 1990's and post millennium.

Swainlands Construction Ltd began life as a general building contractor in general residential construction and refurbishment contracting for several decades. Circa 1990 the company established a name in the insurance reinstatement sector specialising in running major and complex loss insurance reinstatement contracts. As such Tom Swainland & Sons Ltd is held in very high regard with many loss adjusters, engineers and surveyors in the region.

In the late 1990's Swainlands Construction Ltd also began working for local authorities and housing associations completing several major and minor projects for the authorities annually, working in schools, children's centres, medical centres and other public buildings.

In the early 2000's Swainlands Construction Ltd successfully began tendering for property management companies and their contract administrators, completing cyclical Section 20 works to some of the capitals most prestigious properties in Chelsea and Westminster.

Today everything has been pulled together and is in the hands of Tom Senior's son, Chris Swainland MCIOB. An established commercial & private client base, regular tender opportunities Swainlands Construction is going from strength to strength.
